Child Development Lab, University of Maryland Summer Internship Opportunity 2020 The Child Development Lab at the University of Maryland, College Park, under the direction of Dr. Nathan Fox, is accepting applications for our annual Summer Internship Program. Our research explores individual differences in infant temperament and how these differences affect the trajectories of development of typical and atypical development. We use a number of brain imaging methods to study the neural correlates of infant temperament including EEG, fMRI, and fNIRS. For information about our current research, please see our lab website.<>
This internship will provide interns with the opportunity to work with graduate students and postdocs on both ongoing and new studies. Interns will be able to be involved with a wide range of activities over the course of the internship including recruiting participants, running experiments, analyzing data, and presenting results.
Please note that we are a developmental lab and primarily work with infants, children, and adolescents. The internship takes place at our lab at the University of Maryland College Park and runs full-time (40 hours per week) from May/June through August/September.
This position is unpaid; therefore, it is highly encouraged to apply for outside funding from one’s own university, and we are happy to support these applications.
Who can apply? The internship is open to all undergraduate students, those graduating in 2020, and recent college graduates. It is particularly suited for students considering graduate school in developmental psychology, clinical psychology, and/or developmental cognitive neuroscience.
